SYNOPSIS
A show inspired by the legend of the 19th Century spanish heroine, directed by Lluís Pasqual, in collaboration with Manolo Sanlúcar.
“Mariana, llevaba en sus manos, no para vencer, sino para morir en la horca, dos armas, el amor y la libertad, dos puñales que se clavaban constantemente en su corazón”. (Federico García Lorca)
Sara Baras’ Mariana Pineda waits in the darkness of her cell when memories start to appear, the scents of the three men that have had an impact on her life. Mariana accepts death as her destiny, and there she finds the man that will bring her back to life, Federico García Lorca. Mariana finds eternity in his words, and in them she dances and sings again about inextinguishable freedom.
Mariana Pineda is a story about love and freedom.
